Bulimia is a compulsive
eating behaviour. Food is eaten
without hunger or any particular taste.
Eating is not controlled and practically permanent. |
Bulimia often leads to overweight and obesity. It can also
often provoke other serious pathological cardiac and circulatory conditions, diabetes, articulatory problems and many types of deficiencies. |

Like anorexia, causes for bulimia are complex.
They are often multiple and can originate in early childhood. |

A bulimic person must
follow medical as well as nutritional and psychological treatment. With a progressive change towards new
habits of regular meals, whole unprocessed foods, together with family
counselling, bulimia can be permanently cured. However, relapses are common if long term
follow-up is not managed by professionals. |
