Bulimia is a compulsive eating behaviour.  Food is eaten without hunger or any particular taste.  Eating is not controlled and practically permanent.

Bulimia often leads to overweight and obesity.  It can also often provoke other serious pathological cardiac and circulatory conditions, diabetes, articulatory problems and many types of deficiencies.

Like anorexia, causes for bulimia are complex.  They are often multiple and can originate in early childhood.

A bulimic person must follow medical as well as nutritional and psychological treatment.  With a progressive change towards new habits of regular meals, whole unprocessed foods, together with family counselling, bulimia can be permanently cured.  However, relapses are common if long term follow-up is not managed by professionals.
