Reflexology
is derived from the ancient Japanese art of shiatsu.
It consists in stimulating with a gentle finger pressure the body flow
of energy at different points of the body, particularly on the sole of the
feet and the palm of the hand. |

|
Although
extremely beneficial, the effects of a reflexology treatment are limited in
time and intensity. It has to be
repeated frequently over a certain period of time, and it must be
complemented by other approaches aiming at behavioural changes, nutritional, natural and medical therapies. |

|
|
The most
remarkable immediate effect of reflexology is relaxation and liberation from stress, tension and anxiety. Yet different persons respond differently,
according to their own sensitivity and general physical and mental condition. |

|
This
effect is similar to that of shiatsu, although shiatsu is more complete
end thorough, since is it performed over the whole body. |
