Shiatsu
is an ancient Japanese art, ancestor of acupuncture and of reflexology. Shiatsu means “pressure with the
fingers”. It stimulates energies
linked to our internal organs and to our body metabolisms.

Shiatsu
is not a massage. The touch of
fingertips along energy lines called meridians on different parts of the body
is very light. It does not manipulate
bones or muscles. The mere skin touch
on those energy points is enough to trigger energy stimulation towards the
corresponding organ or process and the release of stress and tensions associated with this part of the body
and around the body. |

Shiatsu
and nutrition are not only complementary : they are
essential to each other. The effect of
shiatsu is immediate, many sided, subtle and lasting. It is at the same time relaxing and
stimulating. It helps the receiver
become aware of energy flows in his/her body and guides her/him in the release
of tensions. It brings eventually a
greater vitality of our metabolisms.
These benefits are reinforced and made permanent by the nutritional approach. If
someone undergoes shiatsu care while keeping their unbalanced eating habits,
then the beneficial effects of shiatsu will soon be destroyed by the negative
effects of a detrimental diet. |

We
encourage all our visitors to take an active part in the shiatsu sessions
with respiratory movements and postures specifically designed for their
condition. It is very important to us
that everyone should be encouraged to take control of their own health. |
